Engagement  2003–2005 (5 projects) Subcontract operator Mike Reardon

Engaged as a subcontract operator on multiple programs at ProGuide, a North American management consultancy specialising in enterprise-grade revenue operations. The work spanned three named engagements across two manufacturers and one M&A advisory project, each one applying ProGuide’s own discipline at scales I had not yet had to deliver.

ProGuide was different from the others. I was not deploying my own system. I was observing and using theirs. It was discipline that operated at the $1B-client level, where every workstream had structural rigour. What I took from ProGuide was the operating model that bEffective installs today: first observed at enterprise scale, then learned to compress to SMB without losing the discipline.

The Three Named Engagements
Engagement 1  ·  Healthcare / Manufacturing $1B client revenue

Canadian Blood Services

Mapped revenue and operational architecture across a single program. Identified $10M in cost savings inside one process workflow by reconciling sales-side commitments with operational delivery capacity. This was where the discipline of system-mapping at scale first became concrete.

Engagement 2  ·  Manufacturing $50M client revenue

DEW Manufacturing

The case that proved the discipline scales down. Doubled profits across the engagement by reconciling sales motion with operational reality across the manufacturing workflow, the same Strategy, Operations and Performance discipline that would later anchor every full bEffective case from Zohar through VT Controls.

Engagement 3  ·  Medical Devices M&A M&A advisory

Terumo BCT

Worked alongside ProGuide partners on M&A strategy, applying enterprise-grade architecture analysis to acquisition decision-making at scale. The lesson: strategic transitions (M&A, ownership change, succession) are not different categories of work from operating discipline. They are the same discipline applied under different time pressures.

Outcome $12M+ in combined cost savings and profit lift across two named manufacturers, plus M&A advisory experience that informed how the bEffective system would later approach strategic transitions. Five projects total across the engagement; three named here for the public library.

Lesson That Travels

“Observing that discipline in action at $1B scale, then compressing it to SMB scale without losing the discipline, is how the bEffective operating model took shape. The discipline does not change with company size. The pace and depth of installation do.”

Why This Matters to You

ProGuide is where I updated and scaled the system for smaller businesses. The system bEffective installs today was forged by observing it operate at $1B scale and figuring out how to compress it to SMB without losing the discipline. Every full case study that followed, Zohar and Tech Mahindra and Diabsolut and Dale Carnegie and VT Controls, applies what was learned here.
