Gallup’s studies confirms that there is a strong link between engagement and business performance across an organization.

All such studies reinforce that organizations cannot boost performance without engaging their employees. Scoring employee engagement can be broken out into nine different performance areas within an organization:

  1. Customer loyalty/engagement,
  2. Profitability,
  3. Productivity,
  4. Turnover,
  5. Safety incidents,
  6. Shrinkage,
  7. Absenteeism,
  8. Safety incidents,
  9. And quality (defects).

Finding people however with the right talent, and putting them in the right role and engaging them are essential for boosting performance – but of the two, getting the right person in the right role is the first step. Managers are ambitious. They engage both clients and the team. A true manager engages but also grows the business in a purposeful and results-oriented way. You want a manager who is talented and enables high levels of engagement as well as the will to win. Such a manager outperforms those with low levels of talent and engagement by at least 23.5%.


They do so also in other categories such as: customer ratings, 22% in profitability and 21% in productivity. Work units in the top quartile also saw significantly lower turnover (25% in high-turnover organizations, 65% in low-turnover organizations), shrinkage (28%), absenteeism (37%) and fewer safety incidents (48%) and quality defects (41%). Organizations with an average of 9.3 engaged employees for every actively unengaged employee in 2010-2011 experienced 147% higher EPS compared with their competition in 2011-2012.

Gallup research further proves businesses with high employee engagement outperform those with non-engaged employees by 10%
